One of the first announcements made at the Tudum 2022 event concerned a Netflix Edition of the popular mystery adventure game Oxenfree. Originally launching in 2016, the captivating art style and harrowing story of the title is regarded as one of the most enjoyable contemporary indie experiences on the market.

The Netflix Edition of Oxenfree is now available as a part of Netflix’s standard subscription on mobile devices, boasting a comprehensive level of localization language support for international fans. Desta: The Memories Between

The title reportedly explores the relationships between its characters by reliving their memories through a dream-like arena, in which turn-based strategy dominates the core gameplay. SpongeBob SquarePants: Get Cooking

The upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants: Get Cooking is set to be a title that is exclusive to Netflix, making it one of the most unique announcements from the Tudum event. Get Cooking appears to be a kind of successor to the popular online game Krusty Cook-off, with the two titles both being developed by Tilting Point.

Get Cooking will allow players to take control of SpongeBob at the Krusty Krab, working through intense amounts of orders in a classic chef game style. Boasting progression and a fully customizable restaurant, Get Cooking is set to be a great addition to Netflix’s growing game roster.

Compass Point: West

Compass Point: West is another longstanding pre-existing title, originally launching in 2015. Developed by Next Games, Compass Point has garnered a large following on mobile devices since its launch, with a particularly large presence on Facebook’s gaming channels.

The title plays as a strategy action game, in which players reclaim territory within a stylized Old West while fighting against ominous adversarial forces. Given its continued popularity after so long, Compass Point: West definitely seems worth picking up via the Netflix service.

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is another title developed by Next Games, already existing on iOS and Android devices. As announced at the Tudum event, the title is set to move exclusively to the Netflix platform towards the end of 2022.

Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited

In keeping with the trend of Netflix adapting its most popular shows to the medium of video games, Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited is set to arrive on the service this Fall. Based off of the hit show Narcos, Cartel Wars Unlimited is set to build upon the success of the original mobile game named Narcos: Cartel Wars.

In Cartel Wars Unlimited, players will engage in strategy and base-building mechanics to create their very own illicit cartel empire. With players then having to choose between leading through compassion or fear to build and consolidate their industry, the already-established success of the mobile title’s past iteration puts this upcoming version in good stead to be well-received by fans upon its release.

Kentucky Route Zero

Many will already be familiar with Kentucky Route Zero, with it being an already-released and very well received point and click adventure title. Originally released in 2013, the game is fondly remembered for its compelling art style and unique narrative.

With the game originally being published episodically over the course of five acts and several years, players will now be able to partake in the complete gameplay experience through Netflix. Boasting a “haunting electronic score” and gripping supernatural plot elements, Kentucky Route Zero is set up well to become one of the most popular games on Netflix’s catalog in the coming months.
