For example, Destiny 2 is bringing back one old and one new Trials of Osiris weapon for Season 16, which is going to shift the loot pool a bit. Something similar is happening for the Nightfall loot pool, which will see the addition of two weapons from Destiny in the form of the Duty Bound Legendary auto rifle and the Silicon Neuroma Legendary sniper rifle. While it remains to be seen if these guns old and new will see much use in the new meta for The Witch Queen, the loot pool is going to change even more - this time with weapons being removed.

The current Nightfall rotation makes it so there are eight different weapons that come exclusively from this activity, and with two more coming, Bungie had to let some of the older ones go. As such, THE SWARM, Shadow Price, Uzume RR4, and Hung Jury SR4 will no longer be obtainable from Destiny 2’s Nightfall Strikes, which means that now is the best time to try and get them before they rotate out of the loot pool. This change will also help Bungie to keep the Nightfall loot pool rotation on a three-week basis rather than four.
Destiny 2 Playlist Weapons Leaving in Season 16
Igneous Hammer (Trials) Sola’s Scar (Trials) THE SWARM (Nightfall) Shadow Price (Nightfall) Uzume RR4 (Nightfall) Hung Jury SR4 (Nightfall) Multimach CCX (Iron Banner) Timeworn Spire (Iron Banner) Guiding Sight (Iron Banner) Steady Hand (Iron Banner)
The Crucible is also seeing some changes, with both Trials of Osiris weapons and Iron Banner weapons rotating out of the pool. These are Igneous Hammer and Sola’s Scar for Trials, and Multimach CCX, Timeworn Spire, Guiding Sight, and Steady Hand for Iron Banner. Some of these weapons are also going to be great anti-Champion options for The Witch Queen, such as Multimach CCX and Guiding Sight from Iron Banner, or Shadow Price and Hung Jury SR4 from Nightfalls.
However, the guns leaving the playlists’ loot pool will become available from Xur as per dmg04’s tweet, likely becoming part of the character’s inventory from time to time. Destiny 2’s plans for Hawkmoon, Dead Man’s Tale, and missing Exotic catalysts are not too dissimilar, considering the guns will be sold by Xur on a weekly basis and the catalysts will become part of the playlists’ loot pool.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
